Originally from İzmir, Turkey, Hakan Şirin is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer focused on building end-to-end ML systems that reliably run in production. He holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Technical University of Munich and a B.S. from Boğaziçi University, and also completed an exchange term at UC Santa Cruz.

Most recently, Hakan has been working with Blue Cloud on a LendingTree engagement, where much of the platform is built and operated in Snowflake. Before that, he spent nearly three years at Fitbrokoli, a health-tech and nutrition startup, building data and ML products that supported day-to-day operations and growth. He has also contributed to LegalTech projects at GÜNCE and a healthcare-oriented project on ECG arrhythmia classification.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find him playing tennis, and when he can, swimming or skiing.
