Dominik Baran is a software engineer specializing in backend development and distributed systems. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, where he also actively participated in algorithmic competitions such as Google Code Jam and Hash Code.

Before joining Janea Systems, Dominik worked at Guestline as a Team Lead and Senior .NET Backend Engineer, contributing to the development of a large-scale Property Management System for the hospitality industry.

His work focused on building scalable microservices, modernizing legacy systems, and delivering high-impact features. He also contributed to AI-related initiatives, including an assistant that leveraged modern language models to provide insights based on hotel data.

Earlier in his career, he gained experience in the finance and travel sectors at HSBC and Sabre, working with C++, C#, and Python on complex systems.

Alongside his core work, he likes to explore artificial intelligence as a hobby, particularly working with computer vision models and experimenting with model training. He also enjoys 3D printing, cycling, and perfecting his homemade Neapolitan pizza.
