Bardia is originally from Tehran, Iran, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from one of the country’s top three universities. He is currently based in Turin, Italy.

During his undergraduate studies, Bardia began his career as a software developer, working across Android, iOS, and backend technologies. When the pandemic hit, he became deeply interested in using AI to analyze medical images for infection detection. His first AI project — helping his father identify COVID cases at his hospital — sparked a lasting passion for applied machine learning and led him to join a medical startup focused on AI innovation.

In 2021, Bardia moved to Italy to pursue a Master’s in Data Science and Engineering while collaborating with another startup. Over the years, he has contributed to a range of impactful projects, including the AI component of Ride Safety and Laika, an LLM-based copilot for veterinarians.

More recently, Bardia joined Iveco as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, where he developed solutions such as a chatbot-based knowledge manager, a system for extracting mechanical data from 2D/3D drawings, and an LLM-powered voice assistant for truck drivers. After being promoted to Technical Leader, he realized his true passion lies in dynamic, fast-paced environments that encourage creativity and innovation.

Outside of work, Bardia is an avid soccer player who aims to hit the field at least once a week. He also enjoys going to the gym, exploring new cuisines, and discovering different cultures.
