Based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, André is a machine learning engineer with 14 years of experience across a diverse set of projects. He studied Electronics Engineering at the prestigious university of UFRJ.

André started his career in 2009, developing NN-based Computer Vision applications for solving CAPTCHAs, for the biggest bank in Brazil, used to provide web scraped data for credit scoring pipelines. After 3 years and over 30 Captcha-protected web scrapers developed, he went into management consulting for 7 years, initially as a Data Scientist and then Tech Lead and Project Manager. During that period, he had the opportunitty to work on a diverse set of business domains, functions, and technologies - and in 2017, he won the AB InBev Analytics Hackathon for his company.

More recently, he took up his first fully remote job, working on NN-based realtime radar detection systems and RF spectrum sharing engines for a US telecom company. Fast forward four years, and André is bringing his engineering chops to Janea Systems!

In his free time, André enjoys Scuba diving, riding motorcycles, and going on nature trips with his little brother.
